Comedy Manga Hakozume ‘Police in a Pod’ Reveals TV Anime in 2022
Kadokawa revealed a teaser trailer for the comedy manga Police in a Pod (Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushu) announcing a TV anime adaptation for the manga. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2022.
Madhouse (Death Note, One Punch Man) is producing the anime under direction of Yuzo Sato, while Ryunosuke Kingetsu is overseeing series composition. Kei Tsuchiya does the design for the characters in the anime.
Police in a Pod, or Hakozume, is based on a manga written by Miko Yasu. The manga launched in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in November 2017. In June, Kodansha has published the manga’s 17th compiled book volumes.
Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it’s currently on sale in Amazon’s ComiXology. The outlet describes the story as:
Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn’t even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened — she met the new, female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous role model, Kawai realizes that maybe she isn’t quite done being an officer after all.

The anime will star Shion Wakayama as Mai Kawai and Yui Ishikawa as Seiko Fuji. A live-action TV series is currently on-air with Mei Nagano and Erika Toda starring as the main characters.
