My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! movie was announced on Sunday at the Spring Katarina Festival: Female Katarina Fan Gathering & Male Katarina Fan Gathering event. The anime film was said to be premiering in 2023. A new visual has also been revealed at the said event.
Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan throughout its first season, which started in April 2020. The second season premiered in Japan last summer, and Crunchyroll streamed it live. An English dub is also being streamed by the platform.
The anime film is based on the light novel written by Satoru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Nami Hidaka. The light novel is being published by Ichijinsha in 2015, while J-Novel Club publishes the series in English. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English and describes the story as:
At the age of eight, Katarina, a girl of noble birth in another world, has an accident that unlocks her memories–of playing an otome game that’s exactly like the life she’s living now. There’s one problem: she realizes that she’s playing the role of the villainess, and only bad endings await her! What will it take for her to “break the game” and live a happy life?– Seven Seas Entertainment
