Gintama: THE SEMI-FINAL Streams New Trailer For Prequel to Finale
Gintama: The Final is premiering on January 8! After a week, Ginatama: THE SEMI-FINAL, a prequel to the finale movie is scheduled for a 2-episode debut, the first episode airing January 15 and the second on January 20. Watch the trailer of the prequel below:
The trailer acknowledges that it has been a 2-year long wait for the series’ finale and the prequel is scheduled to air exclusively on dTV, an online streaming platform. Look out for the episodes on dTV’s website.

The story of Gintama: The Semi-Final takes place a day before the movie. Gintoki returns to Edo finding himself meeting Shinpachi who has inherited Yorozuya. A series of attacks, led by a manga artist who admires Gintoki, were done to Katsura and Shinpachi. The prequel is the Gintama you’ve known for years, full of gags.
